Quickly growing into one of the most popular area attractions, and now called the Charlotte Nature Museum, community leaders were intent on expanding the facility’s reach and scope. Amidst growing interest in hands-on science and technology education in the 1970s, the Charlotte community responded by approving funding and plans for a new, comprehensive science and technology center.Community leaders sought to provide access to a growing city and further encourage economic development by locating the new museum in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. Discovery Place welcomed its first visitors in 1981 along North Tryon Street, occupying 72,000 square feet of space enabling the community to understand, enjoy and apply science to their lives. The museum expanded in 1986 with exhibition space to accommodate nationally traveling exhibitions, and in 1991 opened the Charlotte Observer IMAX Dome Theatre as the first giant-screen motion picture theatre in the Carolinas.

And in 1996, the Carol Grotnes Belk Education and Parking Complex was completed adjacent to Discovery Place. Discovery Place is shaping a future where people embrace science to create opportunities, build hope, solve problems and bring positive change for our world. We strive each day to ignite our visitors’ excitement about the world of science and nature and to generate greater understanding of the power of scientific progress. We believe that science is essential for a better future and that everyone should have access to learning opportunities that cultivate curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. The new master plan will consider how a reconfigured and upgraded Discovery Place Science will interact with a new streetscape as well as service the growing need for STEM education in the region.

I find the length of these to be another great option for a slightly longer than cropped length, and I love that they are slim enough to tuck into knee high boots, which makes them incredibly versatile. The fabric, while having stretch to it, is still substantial enough that there is never any slipping down or bagging out at the knees so they hold their shape all day. And the mid blue wash is also another great classic wash that’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

I'd wear this look to the type of dinner that turns into a party. Having these jeans as the hero piece made me feel instantly cool. As I currently watch the first snowflakes hit New York City streets, it has become evidently clear to me that sweater-and-jeans season has fully taken over most of our wardrobes. For the next few months, it will be pretty rare for you to catch me in anything but a good pair of jeans.

“Citizens of Humanity is the favorite designer denim label for many fashion editors, both for it's fashion-forward silhouettes and soft, high-quality denim. Companywide, we are committed to reducing our global footprint on the environment and over the years have invested in advanced technology to process our product to practice positive steps in creating a better future. Some of these methods include laser technology, ecological stones, ozone wash machines, as well as a new recycled water system. Police officers and university administrators have clashed with pro-Palestinian protesters on a growing number of college campuses across the country in recent days, arresting students, removing encampments and threatening academic consequences. Through a partnership with 1% for the Planet, Citizen has pledged to donate 1% of its website sales in the U.S. to support a host of nonprofit organizations focused on the environment.

I live in knee-high boots this time of year, so a pair of bootcut jeans will get a lot of wear for me.

The way a pair of boots looks peeking out from under them is so chic. I also love to wear them with loafers or sneakers, depending on my mood. The flare at the hem elongates the legs, making me look my best. We stand by the quality and craftsmanship of our products with our 30-day money-back guarantee, and a 5-year limited warranty. Behind Citizens of Humanity you will find us; a collective group of individuals who each stand for something. Outside of creating products that are built to last, the team at Citizens of Humanity is committed to giving back and supporting our global community. To my friends who are still mourning the death of their skinny jeans, you can kiss your tears goodbye. These slim jeans are the perfect replacement that is both on-trend and surprisingly more flattering than traditional skinny jeans.

If you're in between sizes here, just know that I sized down and loved the fit. The Charlotte sits high on the waist into a classic straight leg silhouette. Our LA based designers travel the world sourcing superior fabrications and seeking inspiration in every corner of the finest vintage markets.

I love the way that nearly black denim looks with the right sweater. I live in the white version of this tee, and it might be time to stock up on other colors.

I would say the Jolene is the little sister to the Charlotte ha! But they are actually very similar in fit with a few differences. First, the Jolene has a slimmer fit with the same room in the hips that I mentioned above with Charlotte giving these jeans a great vintage fit. These jeans also have stretch to them so if 100% cotton is something that you just can’t do, the Jolene may be a great option for you. To be honest though, I find both jeans to be super comfortable with the Jolene pulling ahead just slightly.

The club itself is a world all of its own, with three private dining suites, a drawing room, a cocktail lounge, a piano lounge, and a hidden cigar garden at the end of the terrace.

London House offers an extensive variety of high-end British & European-inspired cuisine served in a flavour-forward & elevated contemporary style, presented with unique touches to enhance your culinary experience. Aimed to create dining experiences that feel both luxurious and contemporary, to comfort and excite the sense. The extensive wine list and exquisite cocktails are available to complement every dish. The Lounge, modeled on London’s most revered social space “The Ivy”, is the perfect setting for pre and post dinner libations, late night party, or a relaxed fine dining experience on our newly renovated high tops.

Now we're really stuffed, but next we're asked to choose between a blue pill or a red pill. British chef Rikku O’Donnchu is the culinary power behind Immersion. Time in several Michelin-starred kitchens has shown him how to add details beyond just crazy-fun food to the experience. And so, once you enter the foreboding door and sign a legal form promising to keep your camera tucked away, you’ll be walked to a drawing room—like in the movies.

—the cigar was really bread that looked exactly like a cigar. At the table, another server brought a smoky glass canister, then took off the top to let the aromatic smoke waft out. Inside was a black garlic butter dip sprinkled an orange-colored spice. We swiped the cigar, took a bite … it tasted phenomenal.

Immersion at London House injects phantasmagorical whimsy into the molecular tasting menu genre

Only they're not cigars, but onion seed bread rolled to look like cigars and served with a covered "ash tray" filled with "embers" fashioned from a black garlic emulsion, smoked paprika and black garlic ash. Dip the cigar into the emulsion and it looks like a lit cigar. We hear oohs and ahhs inside the intimate eight-person room before it's all gobbled down in seconds. "Oh, it's going to be one of those kinds of nights," says the wife after taking a swig, and we're off to another room where chef de cuisine Alexandria Wubbolt offers us cigars. Which leads us to Matsusaka, a presentation inspired by cherry blossoms and involving Matsusaka beef. Each guest gets to choose a so-called steak knife.

The flavor was so spot-on I would happily have strolled out the door and felt satisfied. As a mother, Josie is passionate about helping nurture Little House’s young members, especially through their dining choices. “We wanted to offer something nutritional and still exciting for the children, something that they would enjoy…but really much more interesting options and things that would appeal to the parents too,” she shares. The Little House menu is far more thrilling than the expected chicken nuggets and hamburger, featuring items such as a mac-and-cheese scotch egg, or anything from the adult a la carte menu. With dishes as unique as a junior Japanese Wagyu steak, the children’s meal options are sure to please the club’s members both young and old.

With British and European-inspired cuisine, it will make for a great restaurant for a special occasion. In the "Golden Egg," its gleaming shell shaped by mannitol, the same sweet powder-cum-binding agent Ferran Adrià used to make his famous "peanuts," Ó'Donnchü stuffs red miso-cured Egyptian goose liver, or "ethical foie gras," as he calls it.

The corporate membership actually provides you with four House memberships, so it’s ideal for CEOs who want to spend time with the rest of the board. Each of those members can escort three guests with them when they visit, and they receive the same complimentary services and LH pin as the other House members. You’ll find that corporate meetings will never be the same again because they’ll be done the London House way. We're stuffed, but there's pani puri topped with Taleggio cheese and platinum osetra caviar. I bite into the puff and there it is — evaporated "pani" in the form of smoke.

If not, it’s likely because it’s an ultra-exclusive private social club with membership dues costing as much as $15,000 a year and more. Admission to the swanky spot could only be granted by invitation or through an exclusive membership. Now, London House is opening its doors with a variety of experiences, including an upscale dining experience that is a rare find in the Orlando area. For something unforgettable, this is a hard-to-beat restaurant for a special occasion. “We’ve pulled together an internationally inspired cuisine,” Adrian says.

I had a whole lot of good food after that, but the next course was definitely my favorite. Servers placed old-fashioned Syracuse China teacups and saucers in front of us. A mound of “truffled caviar” covered in gold leaf was in the bottom of the cup. A tempura-fried shishito leaf sat on the saucer. Then a server poured white miso soup over that little combo stone of luxury foods. The soup was so rich I’m still full four days later.

Only the "truffle" is choux pastry coated in truffle butter and stuffed with Gruyère, and the custard tart is a savory one made from truffle and miso. And down the rabbit hole we go, indulging in this mad hatter's feast — 15 courses worth, all of it set to ambient, electropop and goth metal. After this, I can only tell you about my experience, which was a preview for members of the media. The chef will change things up monthly, so you’ll be treated to different foods, drinks and details. Immersion is a pop-up, petite, boutique, gourmet extravaganza. It’s located inside London House, a members-only all-day restaurant located along Orlando’s Restaurant Row.

Dinner

The private wing for children will be changed into an events area, rentable for weddings. Located in the heart of the Dellagio estate on restaurant row, Orlando’s newest business venture is gaining more than just intrigue and notoriety, and for good reason. Founded by Adrian Everett, entrepreneur and former CEO of E-Lites e-cigarette company, his wife, Josie Everett, and Ben Becton, luxury real estate agent and investor based in Florida, London House is already making an unforgettable impression in Orlando.

Bread, taleggio cheese, smoke, and “platinum osetra”—more caviar. The side was curried cauliflower with raisins. The goose, now that I liked, especially with the lavender sauce poured on. It’s actually cabbage, rolled around chopped goose.

Tufted leather sofas, flickering fire, gilt-framed portraits of military men, plus live music. An extensive Sunday brunch menu will brighten the members’ weekends as they enjoy a scrumptious English breakfast or even some lighter fare, such as gluten-free items or a morning mimosa. Also, in perfect English fashion, London House is proud to feature afternoon tea, with none other than the Ritz of London’s Pastry Chef crafting the most delectable creations. A server holding a cigar box greeted us at the door. (Actually, I learned later she is Immersion’s Chef de Cuisine, Alexandria Krommes.) She invited each of us to choose a cigar, only—ta-da!

Readers are invited to enjoy exploring a variety of topics, from the latest trends, guides, and updates on our exclusive events. Cost for the dinner will be $345 with a chef's table experience running $495, not including beverage pairings. London House at the Dellagio is a unique new concept and set to become the flagship ‘House’ of a new, ultra-exclusive private members club. The space formerly occupied by Urbain40 is being reimagined and is set to open in fall 2020. London House has 3 locations under renovation in Orlando, 2 at the Dellagio estate and 1 at penthouse level of the Chase Plaza on South Orange Avenue, downtown. Pani Puri, ivory orbs, were Chef Rikku’s interpretation on pizza.

Members are invited to enjoy our selection of elegantly composed British & European-inspired cuisine, and choose from a variety of artfully crafted cocktails and wines that complement the flavors of every dish. Now on to the newest addition to our London House! The drawing room is where you’ll come to enjoy cigars, spirits, and lively conversation. Imagine your own slice of personal paradise, complete with a retail humidor, two private cigar rooms, a fully stocked bar of wine and spirits, and two elegant indoor and outdoor spaces, complete with elegant, yet comfortable, seating. On top of that, all members can choose one of our specialty London House cigars, access our personal valets, and rent humidor lockers, ensuring that your favorites are always on hand.

There's cauliflower laced with curry oil, lavender and sultanas on the plate, but the chou farci, a Brussel sprout stuffed with goose offal, nearly steals the show (which, BTW, goes on for nearly four hours). Plunderphonic sound bites of "dig-dig-dig-dig-dig" are heard and a "Book of Truffles" is set before us. It's opened, and sitting inside the hollowed-out core appear to be two dessert confections — a chocolate truffle and a custard tart.

On a square slate plate, … well honestly at this point I can’t match all my photos to the menu descriptions, so take a look, and know that Mosaic had swordfish, Golden Egg foie gras and cherry … go with it. Between courses, you’ll be free to mosey around the parent restaurant. You’ll have pledged in writing not to take pictures, and that’s fair; London House members might be bigwigs who’d like privacy. But that’s not relevant, because Immersion has no cover fee. Your only expense will be the price of the meal, $345 to $495, more for paired wines alongside—which, honestly, are worth it.

After guests hobnobbed in the drawing room for a bit, Chef Rikku joined us. He stood behind the small corner bar and invited us, one at a time, to dip a basil leaf onto dry ice, pinch our nostrils together, place the basil leaf in our mouths, then release the nose and taste the herb. That, he explained, was Step 1 in “engaging the senses throughout the evening.” Step 2 was sipping cocktails served in test tubes. Members have access to any and all London House properties at all times, including London House’s second location, The Penthouse, opening in 2021, in downtown Orlando. Centered around wellness and nutrition, this club features an open-air dining terrace, a fitness center, and a spa, just to mention a few of its stunning attributes, all with gorgeous views of the city skyline. Hailing from England, Adrian and Josie set their sights on fulfilling the longing for the ‘high society’ member clubs found in the United Kingdom, and when they realized their desire for a social club of a similar style in Orlando, they saw an abundance of potential.

This London-esque-themed kids’ club features a life-size London bus that houses a gaming room for older children, a stage for performances that will feature special guests, magicians, comedians, and even master classes for the young members, and movie nights as well. The children of London House society certainly do not miss out on the fun, as they get to experience their own luxury at Little House, the select club for young members ages 12 months to 12 years. Founded by Josie, a mum of two beautiful children, Little House is a safe, secure place for parents to leave their kids as they savor the amenities of London House. Here, children will enjoy playing, learning, laughing, and discovering new activities. Run by a team of professional nannies inspired by the Norland Nannies in London who look after the Royal Family, Little House is designed to keep each child well looked after, while providing children with a similar treatment as their parents next door.

Built by land baron Elias Jackson “Lucky” Baldwin, this delightful cottage is nestled in the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. On the outside, the 1885, stick-style architecture makes this summertime playhouse look like it’s made of candy. The wraparound porch affords splendid views of what was once Lucky’s beloved Santa Anita Ranch.

There is also a Garden House on the property that was occupied by Dion Neutra and his family. Tours of the VDL House are conducted on Saturdays by architecture students from Cal Poly Pomona. The Greystone Mansion, also known as the Doheny Mansion, is a Tudor Revival mansion on a landscaped estate with distinctive formal English gardens, located in Trousdale Estates of Beverly Hills, California, United States. Architect Gordon Kaufmann designed the residence and ancillary structures, and construction was completed in 1928. It was a gift from oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny to his son, Edward "Ned" Doheny Jr. and his family.

The company, which was established in 2018, is coming off the back of fully-financing upcoming big-budget, high-octane genre title Boy Kills World, which opens in the U.S. today (April 26) across nearly 2,500 screens. The property of Aaron Spelling is a lavish and sprawling one that has a massive standing in the current market, as reports claimed that a mystery buyer bought it for $119.75 million after it was placed on the market in 2019. While the gorgeous Suwanee property might not be worth as much as the Spelling Manor, but its stately presence and sprawling grounds still demand a high price. Thus, various sources have valued the single-family, two-storied house at an approximate value of $2.8 million.

There isn't a "sure thing" at quarterback in this draft class, but Williams is close. He's been preparing for this career since he was a child, he played at two dynamite college football schools and is an athletic talent with a very good arm. It particularly helps that the Bears have surrounded him with good receiving talent now and should continue to stockpile into the future. Perhaps most of all he loved the landscape of south-west Scotland, where he spent boyhood summers on his father’s Glenkiln estate. At his own nearby domain, Auchendolly in the Urr valley, he kept a fine shoot, discreetly entertained the King and Queen, and was highly regarded as a benevolent employer and landlord.

Additionally, the company has greenlit development on a new animated sci-fi television series inspired by the video game with Mario Carvalhal (The Search for Wondla) attached as a writer. With that said, this series has been plotted out for four seasons, and that plan could change, but it’s unlikely that we will see the entire war take place in Season 2. Hopefully, we will at least see the inevitable showdown between Daemon and (Mini-Me) Aemond, and if that plot point follows the Fire and Blood book, both men should be very afraid. Before George R.R. Now, HBO is gearing up to show us the mayhem that happened when this house splintered into two sides that each claimed the Iron Throne. In one corner, Rhaenyra Targaryen had been named rightful heir by her father. On the other side, Aegon Targaryen II had been erroneously elevated to king after his wife, Alicent Hightower, mistakenly interpreted King Viserys’ deathbed ramblings.

Photos of the house at its original location show a mansion high on a hill, lined by magnificently landscaped trees. Another Frederick Roehrig design, this Queen Anne-style mansion was built by Andrew McNally, founder of the Rand-McNally Publishing Company. The estate featured beautiful gardens, an aviary, and a private railway spur. Incidentally, McNally's grandson was the famed SoCal architect Wallace Neff. Los Angeles is a vibrant and active city, and one area it thrives is its architecture.

Some say it was the first modern house to respond to California's unique climate, serving as the prototype for the distinctive California style that developed in the early twentieth century. One of Frank Lloyd Wright's most important works, in a style he called "California Romantic," designed in 1917 and built between 1919 and 1923 for oil heiress Aline Barnsdall. The complex includes the main house, garage, and one other surviving structure. The house is located at the crest of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Mulholland Drive and is open for guided tours by reservation only.

You've seen this iconic mid-century house and its view countless times in films, advertisements, and magazines. It's one of my favorite places to go in LA and especially beautiful at twlight. Schindler's private residence is open to the public several days a week, and no reservations are required. The Missions and Ranchos are a special designation of historic homes that have such a unique position in telling the history of southern California that they deserve a separate page. Built in 1899 for the artist and socialite Sarah Posey, this fantastical home was bought only a year after Posey settled in by the legendary oil magnate EL Doheny and his wife Estelle. They are a testament to the wide variety of Victorian architectural styles, from the Far East- and past-obsessed Moorish Revival and Richardson Romanesque to the Arts and Crafts-inspired Foursquare and Eastlake movements.

Today it's open as a museum, located in Malibu Lagoon State Park and open to the public for guided tours. In general the goal is to wrap up all the important elements of a match into one simple number. Some factors to consider may include the story and booking of the match, the workrate of the performers, ring psychology, length of the match, audience reaction, and so forth. “We raised the P&A [for the release] as well,” says Swart of the Moritz Mohr-directed project, which was shot entirely in South Africa. The film centers on Skarsgård’s Boy, who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Famke Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. On the other hand, the Atlanta property used in the pilot episode is quite well known for its majestic architecture and lavish facilities, including an infinity-edge pool along with a full-size tennis court. These dollhouse like houses were much more functional than most Victorian styles, with family-friendly, regular floor plans and a lack of ornamentation—perfect for hardworking, everyday people. Mayer’s five sons were made barons of the Austrian Empire, a Rothschild was the first Jew to enter the British Parliament, and another was the first to be elevated to the British peerage. The head of the British branch of the family has always been considered the unofficial head of British Jewry. Members of the British and French families—the only ones still engaged in banking after the seizure by the Nazis of the Austrian house—distinguished themselves as scientists and often as philanthropists. Baron Philippe de Rothschild (1902–88) became a premier winemaker, of the vineyard Mouton-Rothschild. In 2003–08 the British and French houses were merged, marking the reunification of the Rothschild family business for the first time in nearly two centuries.

It is considered a cousin to both the Prairie and Craftsman styles of architecture. This delightful 1886 Pasadena home is a charming example of the Folk Victorian style of architecture.
